Japão Digital - Projeção Mapeada no Pavilhão Japonês (Digital Japan - Mapping Projection at the Japanese Pavilion) was an event organized by the Japan Foundation in São Paulo, in partnership with the Brazilian Society of Japanese Culture and Social Welfare (Bunkyo), at the Japanese Pavilion, located at Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo (Brazil), realized in March 7th to 14th, 2020.
The cultural event took place in one of the most representative Japanese pavilions in Brazil and celebrated two important dates for the institutions involved in the project: Bunkyo's 65 years of activities and the 45th anniversary of the arrival of the Japan Foundation in Brazil.
Around 900 people went through mapped projections, produced by VISUAL BEATS, in synchrony with Wadaiko performances, played by the group Wadaiko Sho. Simultaneously, artistic projections and interactive mapped projections, which reacted according to the movement of visitors, attracted audiences of all ages.
At the site, five separate spots contained projections produced exclusively for the occasion, including the garden and the traditional style room for tea ceremony.
The event also celebrated the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which would be held in Tokyo.
